DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Podcasting\n\nThis course covers the equipment necessary\, online setup (like a website and iTunes)\, marketing\, social media\, how to shape your presentation for the best effect\, and post-podcast editing using the open-source (and free) audio editor Audacity. This course is primarily an audio-based podcast\; remote podcasting\, as well as video podcasting\, will be briefly covered\, time permitting. Students will also have the opportunity to attend at least one live podcasting session.\n\nDates: Saturday\, June 16   July 28 (no meeting July 7)\n\nTime: 10 AM   12:30 PM\n\nFee: $99\n\n\n\nBasic and Intermediate Painting   Acrylics   Ages 16+\n\nA favorite of professional illustrators who are always pressed for time\, acrylics are far less expensive to work with than oils and more forgiving than watercolor. While all mediums have their limitations\, even when properly handled\, acrylics can be made to perform much like gouache or even oils. Advance your painting skills by learning the necessary steps and procedures to create a well-thought out and properly orchestrated acrylic painting. You'll work in graphite\, as well as charcoal pencils\, then on to inks\, from the static look of mechanical pens to good old-fashioned dip pens. Students will work with square and half-round wires to securely encase cabochons. Students bring their own chef knives.
