About Us

For 25 years, SOY has been serving the youth of Westside Costa Mesa. SOY’s programs are focused on encouraging the pursuit of higher education, lowering the drop-out rate, preventing gang participation and discouraging teen pregnancy, all while raising self-esteem and developing life skills.

Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming space for teens to find hope, to nourish a sense of self and an ability to grow and to develop interests and skills to become productive members of society. As a non-profit agency serving low-income youth to provide a worthwhile option to an at risk lifestyle, SOY provides a challenging and healthy environment where teens receive mentoring, tutoring, college preparedness, access to field trips, sports, and art and music lessons.

Our programs and services are designed to help students succeed in school and get ready for college, enrich their lives with activities such as dance, music and outdoor recreational experiences, and stay healthy and safe.
