              July 31

              • Mariners Academy ($50)
              Have you ever thought about translating your love of the ocean into a career in boating? Students will learn about various maritime careers while gaining boating skills. Taught at OCC’s bay front facility, students will experience many hands-on activities including touring OCC’s fleet of boats, knot tying, and chart reading. On the last day we will put new skills to use, driving and navigating a small boat in Newport Harbor.
              • Strategic Magic ($179)
              This fantastic class has the goal of using magic as a way to teach the children public speaking skills and confidence! Each week students will learn up to 3 new tricks and get to practice doing them in front of the class. This Strategic Kids curriculum was written by a professional magician and has been a huge success in the trial run. Children learn card tricks, coin tricks, ball tricks and more!! The last week of this program includes a show case for the children to demonstrate their new skills to their parents and friends!
              • OCC Keyboard Academy-Ages 7 and up ($99)
              Group instruction that develops musicianship and basic piano skill. Learn major scales and perform music in C, G and middle C position. Recommended one-half to one hour daily practice.
              • Computer Animation Basics with PC-Ages 10-12 ($199)
              Working with PC's, participants will learn skills that help with computer drawing, character creation and movement, and character interaction. In small groups or with a partner, students will learn introductory computer animation techniques and create original characters and short animated sequences.
              • Chemistry Lab-Ages 7-12 ($219)
              Come inside and see what spectacular solutions the Mad Scientist has been whipping up in the kids summer camp! Experiment with some crazy chemistry, learn about exothermic reactions and create crystals. Have a cool time with dry ice, making an oozing batch of gooey slime, and see what pops up in our explosions lab! It is no wonder this is our most popular science camp.
              • Swim Lessons-Session 5 ($59)
              Learning how to swim and be safe in the water is essential in Southern California. Our warm weather and accessible pools, spas, lakes and ocean increase the need to be educated in safe water skills. Our program features:

              40-minute classes for Levels II and above
              30-minute classes for Level I and Parent & Me
              Various times to accommodate your schedule
              • Swim Lesson: Beginning Waterpolo($59)
              This fun and exciting class will introduce basic skills in treading water, passing, shooting, defense and team strategy. Recommended for students 6th grade and above who can demonstrate competency in freestyle and backstroke.

              August 2
              • Mobile DJ Series-Advanced($99) 
              ?In this module, emphasis is on the role of the emcee at wedding receptions and special events. Students will learn how to perform as an Emcee and organize and implement the entire wedding reception format.The course will also cover advanced microphone skills and how to project yourself as an entertainer.

              August 3
              • Fast, Fun French($79) 
              ?Fun, fast-paced introduction and practice in pronunciation, phrasing and thinking in French for travelers and Francophiles.

              August 5
              • Word Problems-Unlocking the Secrets-Ages 9-16($53)
              ?Take the mystery out of word problems with this three-hour workshop.  Students will identify key phrases, recognize crucial concepts and learn strategies that will increase their ability to understand what the problem is asking them to do.  Students currently taking arithmetic, pre-algebra, and algebra classes will be able to develop the critical thinking skills to tackle the most common types of word problems
              • Natural "A's"-Ages 10-17($79)
              ?Any student can significantly enhance grades, self-confidence, and chances for scholarships and college admissions—by performing academic skills in alignment with the brain’s natural patterns. This makes note taking, reading, studying, memorizing, and test taking amazingly efficient.
